Why do we baptize in the Name of Jesus?

Perhaps more than any other reason is this verse: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12).

When the Apostles baptized, it was always in Jesus' name. We believe that baptism should be performed by a minister of the Gospel, in obedience to the Word of God, and in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, according to Acts 2:38, 8:16, 10:48, and 19:5, thus obeying and fulfilling Matthew 28:19.
